Carpets coming from tufting machines often have protruding loops and broken filaments on the backside. By singeing, those molesting parts are eliminated and a plain clean backside is presented to the latexing and foaming units. Besides improved appearance, cost cutting by heavy reduction of latex and foam is another advantage
